The terrible devastation caused by the 7.0 magnitude earthquake on January 12, 2010 has left Haiti in desperate need of disaster assistance. Through the USAID Office of U.S. Foreign Disaster Assistance/Latin America and the Caribbean (OFDA/LAC) project, designed in part to help the 31 countries throughout Latin America and the Caribbean respond to natural disasters, IRG is providing disaster response specialists to help coordinate the response effort under the direction of USAID/OFDA. The specialists will likely assist in damage evaluations, coordinate with local officials, and aid in the distribution of supply reliefs.
This assistance is provided under the Regional Disaster Assistance Program (RDAP).
